Clenbuterol or Clen is a drug used both by bodybuilders and athletes alike. It’s anti-catabolic and thermogenic properties help slightly increase the core temperature of the body which in turn increases energy/calorie expenditure. It is primarily used as a drug for weight-loss in cutting cycles by a large number of anabolic steroid users who report a marked increase in lean mass once they start using Clen.

Clenbuterol - The Dosage

Clen is most commonly available in tablet form and is dosed in mcg/µg- micrograms. However, it’s also available in the injectable, nasal spray and liquid form. The point to keep in view here is  that even though its dosage is in micrograms, most manufacturers list its active ingredient and as mg. So essentially, a 20mcg tablet is labeled as 0.02mg.

Like many other bodybuilding drugs, the dosage for Clenbuterol is successively increased over a period of time. For anyone who’s just starting out on Clenbuterol, it’s possible to increase their metabolism with only 40 mcg each day for men and 20 mcg per day for women. Of course, some people do start with a higher dosage, but as time passes, that can have a negative impact on the health. While your body will be quick to adjust to the effects of Clen, the dosage has to be steadily increased over time, in order to get the same effects.
 
This is why it helps to start off on a lower dosage; this ensures you don’t reach the upper end of the dosage scale too soon. Keep in mind that once you reach that maximum dosage point, there is no way to go higher than that. Therefore, starting slowly and then building from there makes far more sense. If you want to get the most out of your usage of Clenbuterol, increase your dose by 20 mcg only once every 14 to 21 days (or as required).  
 
It’s important for anyone who is using Clen, to keep in mind that there are maximum time frames as well as dosages that should be adhered to. Exceeding these may lead to cardiac hypertrophy. Men shouldn’t take over 140 mcg of the drug daily, and women shouldn’t take more than 120 mcg of Clen every day; and the dosage shouldn’t be taken for more than 14-21 days.
 
In a given year, the total period of Clenbuterol  use shouldn’t exceed 16 weeks; and at least 8-10 weeks have to pass between usages (16 weeks per year is the safest timeframe). Some users also find that following a 2 weeks on & weeks off routine helps them manage the steroid usage in a much better way.
